STARTING A NEW CHAPTER, EMBRACING NEW HORIZONS

Stepping into the unknown and embarking on a new chapter in life can be exciting yet intimidating. I graduated over a month ago and I won't lie, I am a bit sad that it is over - but I am also excited to see what this next chapter entails.

I have been distant from the blog and social media but for good reasons - planning a move, spending time with my family, embarking on my new career, and venturing out on our days off.

I won't lie when I say I am overwhelmed by everything going on right now, but I remain optimistic because 'a positive mind finds opportunity'.

As I reflect on my recent graduation from college, I am reminded of the power of resilience. Not only did I complete my academic journey, but I overcame a traumatic brain injury that reshaped my perspective on life - it is short; and if you're like me, time is a precious thing that should not be wasted.

Making memories with my son, Noah and boyfriend, Josh, is the cherry on top of everything surrounding our lives. Even though we are planning a move and starting our lives in a new city, we still have made time to enjoy the little things around us. We should never lose focus on our goals, but we should always make time for fun with the ones we love.

As time gets closer to our move, I am feeling more anxious than normal but excited which is why I wanted to share this short blog to give a little encouragement for anyone who might be in the same position.

Whether by chance or circumstance, we should embrace the opportunities and challenges that come with change. It is intimidating, it can be scary but if we just 'DO IT' - it could possibly be the best decision we ever make.

Years ago, my brother and I decided to pack up and just head to another city - Chattanooga, Tennessee. Reminding myself daily that we acted on spontaneity and made it happen, gives me the confidence to do it again. I have to remind myself what I have accomplished in these last four years. I guess what makes it scary is the change in economy between present day and years ago. All I know is I do not want to be stuck in the same place all my life - I want to futher my career and see the world.

I seek adventure. I live for it.

A mantra that I have lived by since my last round of brain surgeries gave me the confidence to get to where I am today - 'I would rather have a life of 'oh wells' than what ifs'.

As you embark on your journey of recovery or unexpected detours, may my story inspire you to embrace resilience to get you to where you want to be in life. Even in the face of adversity, there is always a new chapter waiting to be written.

Stay tuned as I share my tips on how I planned a move to the big city, started my career, and traveled to new places. But in the meantime, feel free to enjoy the photo dump below of what I have been doing in between!

With love,

CT
